Pastor Teresa grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She felt God first calling her into missions during a “Revival Week,” when Dr. and Mrs. Brown (missionaries to Africa) stayed with her family and spoke at her church. Later in life, after many ups and downs in her relationship with Christ, she began by going on a short-term mission trip to Argentina, where God confirmed His calling over her life and reignited her passion for international missions.
She met and married Jay Davidson, and God blessed them with a house full of children, six in all! Many of their children have served with them in missions including three were even baptized in Guatemala.
Over the last 16 years, Pastor Teresa has participated in or led over 28 short-term mission trips in 16 countries. She was the Missions Director at Hillside Wesleyan Church and Antioch Christian Church prior to becoming ordained and serving as Missions Pastor at Christian Life Church. In 2016, Teresa was re-baptized where Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River as a confirmation of His calling on her life to serve in missions.
On top of a passion for the gospel, Pastor Teresa also has a passion for fighting human trafficking and in 2018 she co-founded the international 501(c)3 organization Chains Interrupted. In 2019 Teresa was recognized by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for her work against human trafficking and was awarded the Iowa Outstanding Person of The Year award by the governor and the Iowa Network Against Human Trafficking. We are unbelievably proud of the work Pastor Teresa is doing and we are honored to have her as our missions pastor!
